2011 TRICK-OR-TREAT BAG DESIGN WINNERS ANNOUNCED

We are excited to announce the winners of the 4th Annual Trick-or-Treat Bag Design Contest! We received hundreds of entries from children across the country and these three were declared winners:
1st Place - Madeline Parks, 11 from Plymouth, MI
2nd Place - Dylan Beecher, 8 from Cedar Falls, IA
3rd Place - Maeve Smith, 12, from New Buffalo, MI

2011 TRICK-OR-TREAT BAG DESIGN CONTEST DETAILS

Kids, do you have an "EEK-O-Inspired" design idea for a limited edition, reusable, trick-or-treat bag? See your art inspire Halloween prints on Chicobag^® brand reusable bags sold all over the U.S. and win "EEK-O-Fabulous" prizes! Plus, you can feel great knowing that 10% of ChicoBag proceeds will be donated to Green Halloween^®, an initiative helping to make Halloween healthier and more sustainable - while keeping all the fun!

How to Enter:

The contest is open to children ages 1-13 as of November 5, 2011. Create a design that best captures the "Spirit of a Green Halloween" using the ChicoBag design template and your medium of choice! Be sure to have a parent or guardian complete the agreement from on the reverse side of the design template.

Entries may be submitted via snail mail (print) or electronically (.jpeg or .pdf format). All entries must include artwork and a completed and signed agreement form.  Mail entries to ChicoBag Company, c/o Halloween Contest, 13434 Browns Valley Drive, Chico, CA 95973. Upload form will be available September 1, 2011. 

When to Enter:

The contest will open on September 1, 2011 and runs through Halloween. All entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2011 and received by November 5, 2011. All online submissions must be uploaded by 11:59pm PST on November 5, 2011.

Voting:

The ChicoBag marketing department will select top designs to be posted on the ChicoBag facebook page. Designs will be posted on November 10, 2011. Once designs are posted, voting for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be open to ChicoBag Facebook fans and will run through November 17, 2011 at 11:59pm PST. One vote per person. Winners will be announced on the ChicoBag Facebook wall on Friday, November 18, 2011.

Prizes:

1st Place: $250 cash to the artist, ChicoBag^® brand reusable bag filled with eco-friendly goodies from our prize partners, elements of design printed on limited edition ChicoBag brand reusable bags and $250 cash or $500 in ChicoBag product to go to school or organization

2nd Place: $100 cash to the artist and a ChicoBag brand reusable bag filled with eco-friendly goodies from our prize partners

3rd Place: ChicoBag brand reusable bag filled with eco-friendly goodies from our prize partners

Fine Print:

All entries must be received between September 1, 2011 and November 5, 2011 by 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time. Winning designs will be announced on November 18, 2011. Announcement will be made on the ChicoBag website and ChicoBag facebook page.

Artwork:Children ages 1-13 are encouraged to enter the contest by submitting an original drawing best depicting the spirit of a Green Halloween. Artistic talent is not the focus of the contest, but the design that best captures the "spirit" of a Green Halloween is. The hope is that children participating will be inspired to make greener choices for Halloween and other celebrations throughout the year. Images must be an original design. ChicoBag and green Halloween are not responsible for lost of damaged designs. Artwork will not be returned and becomes the property of ChicoBag. The top three designs may be used in part, or in full, on bags and in print or online. Up to three entries per child allowed.

Voting: Top designs (determined by Chicobag) will be posted to an album on the ChicoBag facebook page. All voting will be done through the ChicoBag facebook fan page. www.facebook.com/chicobag. Voting will be open to everyone. Votes must be left as comments under the design of choice. Votes will only be counted if they are posted under the design of choice. The designs with the most votes by November 17, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST will be declared winners. In the event of a tie, ChicoBag will determine the winner using an interoffice vote. No Purchase necessary.

Prizes:Prizes will be mailed to winners using the address given on the 2011 ChicoBag and Green Halloween Contest Agreement form. First place winners will receive a check for $250 made out to the artist and $250 made out to school/organization or $500 retail value ChicoBag brand product. Second place winner will receive a check for $100 made out to the artist.

2011 ChicoBag and Green Halloween Contest agreement form: All entries must be accompanied by a signed and completed 2011 ChicoBag and Green Halloween Contest Agreement Form. Entries submitted without completed forms will not be considered. Forms must be completed by the parent or guardian of the artist. Signatures must be handwritten (original, scan or photo copy is acceptable). No typed signatures. All electronic submissions must be completed by the parent or guardian of the artist.

Artists:Open to Children ages 1-13 as of October 31, 2011. Artists must be residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia. Contest is void where prohibited by law. A photo will be requested from the first, second and third place winners for marketing purposes.
