Customer Service/Receptionist

ChicoBag is hiring for a Customer Service/Receptionist. The Customer Service/Receptionist position acts as the face of the company, provides the first impression and acts as an extension of ChicoBag Company’s brand and core values. Customer Service treats each internal and external customer in a courteous manner, greeting them and addressing their needs in a pleasant and efficient manner. In addition to directly addressing customer needs, the position is responsible for managing the reception area, case management, various administrative duties and order entry for online and fundraising accounts.
The position reports to the Marketing Manager and is assigned administrative duties from various managers. This position is primarily phone and computer based. You must be able to sit for the majority of your work day. You need to be able to safely lift up to 35 lbs with proper body mechanics.

Pay range: $10.50 - $15.00

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required; 2 or more years preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent .
  • Knowledgeable in Google or Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Salesforce or comparable CRM system experience is desired.
  • Proven track record for building and managing customer relationships.
  • Organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a semi-autonomous, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for communicating primarily by phone and email.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Self-starter, able to see what needs to be done and get it done.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Accuracy and detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Neat and orderly appearance.
  • Commitment to social justice and the mission of the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Answer customer service e-mails and phone calls.
  • Greet walk in customers.
  • Recommend alternate solutions to customers based on cost, availability or specifications.
  • Keep office area clean and organized.
  • Order entry for Amazon, e-commerce (chicobag.com and to-goware.com), and as assigned.
  • Point of contact for Bag Monster rental program.
  • Generate fundraising pick and pack labels.
  • Generate labels for warehouse as required.
  • Monitor orders to be picked up by customers and notify customers when orders are ready.
  • Manage coverage for phones and front office from 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Process warranty claims.
  • Create credit memos for returns.
  • Monitor and follow up on Cases to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers’ issues.
  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
  • Log activity of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken in Salesforce.
  • Data entry as required.
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat, and friendly attitude.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented.
  • All other duties as assigned.
